History

In the late 1980’s Jake Blastick, a long-time fixture of south Porter County, Indiana as well as the feed business, had a vision of an independent feed and farm supply store serving the livestock and horse feed needs of Porter County Indiana. Finally in 1990 that store became a reality when Jake, along with other family members, founded Jake’s Feed and Garden near the tiny “town” of Malden, Indiana.

Through the years Jake’s Feed expanded into about 10,000 square feet of space dedicated to supplying the needs of not only the livestock and horse owner communities, but also the requirements of gardeners, wild bird enthusiasts, pet owners, and homeowners with a passion for beautiful lawns.

Jake passed away in 2009 but the Jake’s Feed legacy is carried on by his daughter, Tia Wilks and her team of dedicated employees who continue to carry out Jake Blastick’s commitment to servicing the needs of its customers as well as the community at large.
