Horse Owner’s Workshop a hit!

Purina Rep Matt Rorabaugh discusses feeding options with attendees

Horse owners talking with vendors and experts

On Tuesday April 26 Jake’s Feed held their annual Horse Owner’s Workshop. This year was the first year the workshop was held at the store. The weather cooperated for a few hours and attendees were treated to refreshments and door prizes. A spin of the “prize wheel” won some valuable coupons for many.

Valuable information for horse owners could be gleaned from booth representatives: Purina Feed, Jerry Rodenbarger DVM, Cisco Seeds, Holt Products, Christian Haven, and Midwest Saddle Club.

Customers had a chance to win additional prizes by finding the “rubber duckies” hidden in the store retail area.

A fun time was had by all, and customers had opportunities for great deals on feed in addition to the prizes.

Porter County Garden Show

The Jake’s Feed and Garden Booth at the 8th annual Gardening Show sponsored by the Porter County Master Gardener’s Association on January 22nd was again a hit with attendees.

If you have never attended this event it is certainly a lot of fun, informative, and a great break from the January weather. Of course it always generates excitement and interest for the upcoming gardening season.

Jake’s featured many items of garden art and birdfeeders for this year’s garden. Popular items were chimes, balancers – decorative garden pieces that move in the wind, and greeting cards that contain seed and can be planted. New and interesting items were pottery stools, firepots, gazing globes, and rainchains. All of these items are now in our store!

As always, the staff from Jake’s Feed and Garden was available to assist gardeners, backyard bird feeding enthusiasts, pet owners, and lawn aficionados with answers to their questions and concerns.
